Cambios Importantes para la Temporada de Impuestos 2022

Se acerca una nueva temporada de impuestos y con ella, llegan algunas novedades y cambios que debes tener en cuenta al momento de hacer tu declaración.

El primer cambio importante está es las fechas en las que el IRS iniciará a aceptar y procesar las declaraciones del año tributario 2021. La temporada comenzará el 24 de enero de 2022 y la fecha límite será el 18 de abril del 2022.

Para aquellos contribuyentes que recibieron pagos anticipados relacionados al Crédito Tributario por Hijos, el IRS enviará la carta 6419. Esta carta se debe conservar y debe ser presentada al preparador de impuestos para conciliar estos pagos y determinar si son elegibles para recibir la segunda mitad del crédito. Sino recibiste la carta en el correo postal, también podrás verificar el monto de tus pagos a través del Portal de Actualización del Crédito Tributario por Hijos disponible en IRS.gov

Para aquellos contribuyentes que recibieron el Tercer Pago de Impacto Económico, el IRS enviará la carta 6475. Esta carta se debe conservar y debe ser presentada al preparador de impuestos ya que ayudará a las personas a determinar si son elegibles para reclamar el Crédito de Recuperación de Reembolso y deben presentar una declaración de impuestos del año 2021 para poder hacerlo.

Recuerda que adicional a estas cartas, debes asegurarte de tener todos tus documentos y formularios antes de iniciar tu declaración. Estos documentos incluyen, pero no están limitados, a números de Seguro Social o ITIN vigentes, formularios W2, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC u otros, formularios 1095-A, y muchos otros formularios y documentos. Tener todos tus documentos antes de presentar tu declaración te asegurará una declaración precisa y sin errores, y, para aquellos elegibles, obtendrán su reembolso mas rápido.

Important changes for the 2022 Tax season.

A new tax season is approaching and with it comes some news and changes that you must consider when making your declaration.

The first major change is the dates that the IRS will start accepting and processing returns for the 2021 tax year. The season will begin on January 24, 2022, and the deadline will be April 18, 2022.

For those taxpayers who received advance payments related to the Child Tax Credit, the IRS will send the 6419 letters. This letter should be retained and presented to the tax preparer to reconcile these payments and determine if they are eligible to receive the second half of the credit. If you did not receive the letter in the mail, you can also check the number of your payments through the Child Tax Credit Update Portal available on IRS.gov

For those taxpayers who received the Third Economic Impact Payment, the IRS will send the 6475 letters. This letter should be kept and presented to the tax preparer as it will help individuals determine if they are eligible to claim the Recovery Credit. Refund and must file a 2021 tax return in order to do so.

Remember that in addition to these letters, you must make sure you have all your documents and forms before starting your declaration. These documents include but are not limited to, current Social Security or ITIN numbers, W2, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC or other forms, 1095-A forms, and many other forms and documents. Having all your documents before you file will ensure an accurate, error-free return, and, for those eligible, get your refund faster.
